The Fitness Revolution for Busy Women
For today’s modern woman, it can seem like there are never enough hours in the day and juggling work and family life can leave us with precious little time for ourselves.
All too often – and despite all our efforts – exercise is the first thing to fall by the wayside. Instead of being part of our daily routine, a long run or a visit to the gym becomes one of life’s little luxuries.
But a revolution in women’s fitness is about to change all that – and this time, the revolution will be televised.
Fitness TV, the UK’s first dedicated health and fitness channel, offers time-strapped women the chance to keep in shape with a programme of workouts designed to compliment any gym timetable – and all in the comfort of their own home.
Recognising that many professional family women don’t have the time to focus on their fitness as often as they’d like, the Sky and online channel - www.fitness.tv - plans to bridge the gap by showing a range of workouts aimed at supplementing a current regime – or paving the way back to regular exercise.
From interesting and fun classes guaranteed to help maintain that all-too-important motivation to traditional aerobic cardio workouts and Latin salsa routines, as well as yoga and Pilates, Fitness TV promises to have something for everyone.
Bhangra workouts will tap into the Bollywood craze recently sparked by the success of the Oscar-winning Slumdog Millionaire, while the High Heels workout is perfect for those who want to inject a touch of fun and glamour into their exercise routine.
And for those who prefer to feel the pain to see the gain, Body Combat classes and a Legs, Bums and Tums Boot Camp will fit the bill.
The channel will also have programmes aimed at children, such as Tots Mobility and Balance, Kids’ Yoga and Street Dance, offering mums quality time to spend with their children while ensuring they’re keeping fit – and a perfect wet weather activity suitable for all the family.
All of Fitness TV’s instructors have been hand-picked to inspire people to achieve their goals. Alongside Elise Lindsay, the personal trainer credited with keeping Coleen Rooney in shape, are ‘real’ men and women of all shapes and sizes.
Fitness TV launches on August 4th 2009 and can be watched for free on Sky channel 282 and online at www.fitness.tv
