New arrival to help mums find their figures

For every new mum, the day you squeeze back into your jeans is almost as momentous as the birth itself, but we all know it’s never as easy as we might have previously thought.

When exercising was once as simple as mustering up the enthusiasm to pull on your trainers and head to the gym, you now have the added problem (or excuse!) of childcare to consider, not to mention the pile of sleepsuits waiting to be washed or the sheer exhaustion that goes with looking after a little one. Baby

Taking time out to leave the house for a workout can seem like such a luxury it’s not surprising that many new mums find themselves struggling to regain their post-baby bodies long after the congratulations cards have been packed away.

But that’s all set to change, thanks to a brand new TV channel which brings exercise classes right into your living room.

Fitness TV, the UK’s first dedicated health and fitness channel, aims to revolutionise the way we exercise by bridging the gap between the regime we’d like to be following and the one our hectic lives will allow.

Mother and BabyIt will feature a wide range of classes from some of the country’s top instructors, including Coleen Rooney’s personal trainer Elise Lindsay, as well as the latest tips and advice from health and nutrition experts.

Fitness TV founder Luan Underwood said: “The demands of real life often mean we can’t work out as much as we’d like, so we wanted a channel which would allow viewers to dip in and out whenever it suited them to help them to achieve their goals.

“With an ever-changing class timetable and programme schedule, our viewers can be sure to avoid the repetition of an exercise DVD and maintain that all-important motivation factor.”

With a host of classes from Fat Burner cardio, Legs Bums and Tums, yoga and Pilates to dance-based workouts like 80s disco, Latin salsa and Bhangra, you’re sure to find something to suit you.

For the more adventurous, there’s even a High Heels workout to help bring a little glamour back into your life.

And because you never have to leave home to participate, you can squeeze in your sessions while your baby is sleeping.

Fitness TV launches on August 4th 2009 and can be watched for free on Sky channel 282 and online at
