Review of clothes for children from green-eyed-monster.co.uk by some of our local mums:

I received the daisy chain dress and I found it great! The fabric is really soft and washes very well. I like the style because it's one garment only and very easy to wear. The colours are great, with 2 girls anything not pink is very much appreciated! Emma loved it at first sight and it's her favourite garment when she's not wearing her school uniform!

I received a pair of jeans for my 5 year old son and a long sleeve t shirt for my 15 month old son.

The jeans were aged 5-6 years and fitted my son perfectly.  They were
made of a really soft cotton denim and washed well although they have
started to show signs of wear already on the central seam on the bottom
area which is disappointing as he's only worn them three times.  The
only negative comment would be the retail price of £34 which is rather
on the high side.  I certainly couldn't afford to spend this much on a
pair of jeans for my son.

The second item I was sent was a t-shirt aged 1-2 years.  This fitted my
15 month old son, but I'm doubtful it would still fit at aged 2.  The
t-shirt was lovely and soft and washed really well without shrinking or
losing its shape.  Again the only negative comment would the retail
price of £16.

These clothes seem to be targeted at the higher end of the market and
would not suit many budgets, but on the whole they are good quality clothes.

Kerensa (21 months) tried a long sleeved top emblazoned with a ‘Lucy in the sky with diamonds’ graphic and more than enough sparkly bits to satisfy a little girl. The garment was made out of soft cotton and of extremely good quality. The puffy sleeves did remind me of Jane Torvill dancing the bolero but Kerensa looked fab and she knew it! Somewhat impractically the washing instructions were 30˚C, cool tumble dry. I bunged it in with the other kid’s clothes at 40˚C and inevitably the print has started to crack. Would I pay £17.95 for this top – probably not, but grandparents might.

The ‘Arcade’ babygrow provided for Beatrix was so soft and snugly that I wanted to wear it! As it happens, I could have done as the 0-6 months size was absolutely enormous for my seven week old. Undeterred, we rolled up the sleeves and legs and set off for the supermarket. In the car, we heard a familiar bluuggghh noise and she had puked. This time, we religiously followed the washing instructions. Although the garment is rated at 30˚C, Beatrix’s vomit is rated much higher. The Pacman design appeals to blokes and Beatrix loved her uncle making the noises on her tummy. At £19.00, the pricing is a bit steep but it would make a lovely gift.

In summary, two-well designed, well-made pieces of clothing. The fair-trade/organic manufacture is a great selling point but the low washing temperature is a serious problem to me.
